For the past two years,
I have been working hard on my debut art book.
After the long hours, weeks, months, years,
blood, sweat and tears, it is finally published!
"The Daily New(d)s"
is a compilation of 366 daily self-portrait drawings on newspaper dated
from my 31st birthday on November 2, 2007 to November 2, 2008.
“I clearly remember the first time I made a self-portrait of myself.
It was at home in Southern California on a warm
Sunday afternoon when I was fifteen years old. I recall feeling
a little puzzled and disturbed when I was looking at myself in the drawing.
For some reason the portrait conveyed a side of me that I hadn’t seen.
What I was looking at was the ‘real Me’.
The ‘Me’ stripped of all pretense.”
My creativity is at a peak at the moment
and recently I started making bronze sculptures!
Today I would like to share the first three
that just got back from the foundry.
They were cast using the lost-wax technique.

I recently ventured into exciting new projects as an artist.
Due to a commissioned assignment from one of my favorite collectors
I did something that I hadn't quite done before on such a scale:
I painted a mural!

The mural stands 3m x 6m (9ft x 20ft) in the architecture company Konturbau, in Ravensburg, Southern Germany.
I've since painted another one in my second home in Southern Germany
and will be exploring murals further soon as more clients are already ordering them.

Current Exhibition Update in Berlin, Germany
Its been a long stretch since my last exhibition in Berlin,
as I am working on my current project, uploading youtube videos,
and working on a whole new series to be announced next year...
Allas, I am having an Art Gallery Group Exhibition
along with so many talented artists.

Winston Torr: Book Project "the daily new(d)s"
For all who would like to know,
I have been drawing and capturing the human live nude figure
on newspaper with charcoal since 2003 (an ongoing process).
A project idea came about one day last year.
The concept of drawing myself nude every day for one year
in any style, pose, view, expression, etc. took flight.
I would draw whatever I felt that day in time as (the world and I).
The perfect date to start for me was my 31st birthday.
It took me about six months to start talking about
my project because I had no clue,
as much as I wanted to,
if I could follow through.
Over 180 drawings now it should be time to share it with the world.
The goal for my project is to create a book at the end of the year...
Now is the time I would try to find ways to market this book in publications, etc.,
and find a publisher...
any info would be quite helpful...
